Summary:

Are you an experienced construction engineer or construction project leader, with WisDOT or roadway construction management experience, that is looking to for an opportunity to grow your career? Are you seeking an opportunity to become a Construction Group Manager? Kapur and Associates, Inc. currently has an opening for a Construction Project Leader in our Madison, WI office that could expand into a Construction Group Manager role as you help grow our construction management services in the area. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work on WisDOT or other local agency roadway and bridge construction projects. This full-time, salaried position will be responsible for leading WisDOT construction projects while also performing construction inspections. This position is based out of our Madison Office, but we are flexible on your home location as projects are typically located in Southern Wisconsin.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage construction projects for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) or other local agencies.
  • Oversee, train, mentor construction staff assigned to your projects
  • Cultivate strong relationships with WisDOT staff and/or local municipalities to enhance collaboration and project efficiency.
  • Conduct construction oversight and inspection.
  • Perform materials testing and documentation.
  • Perform precise field measurements to gather essential data for project planning and execution.
  • Complete construction closeout documentation.
  • Assist in planning, designing, managing, coordinating, and monitoring all design and technical aspects of transportation projects.
  • Provide engineering designs and technical leadership to transportation design engineers, including the preparation of calculations, schedules, reports, cost estimates, plans, and specifications.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of roadway construction inspection experience or project management experience working with WisDOT, municipalities or other state/government agency.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in civil engineering or construction management
  • 6+ years of construction engineering experience with WisDOT and/or Local/Municipal projects
  • GPS and Survey equipment knowledge
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Familiarity with AASHTOWare Project
  • Familiarity with WisDOT Standard Specifications, material certifications, and FDM
  • WisDOT HTCP certifications including PCCTEC, TMS, Materials Coordinator, Nuclear Density
  • Experience managing negotiated project budgets and schedules
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Wisconsin
